"Kurzer Weg" translates to short path, a central feature that joins the three buildings each of varying heights. Their arrangement creates a central forecourt, which can initially be perceived by pedestrians as a green opening. From the residents' perspective, the forecourt serves as a meeting point, a space for communication, and a multipurpose area. The buildings are designed as timber frame constructions with timber-concrete composite ceilings (HBV ceilings). The advantages of timber construction include reduced construction time and greater precision: the components (walls/ceilings) are produced in the factory and delivered to the construction site as semifinished products—waterproof packaged. They are then assembled, and the shell construction is completed in a very short time, allowing the interior work to continue under controlled, weather-independent conditions.
