The residential building is a modern design skillfully combined with the historical elements of a former railway locomotive depot. The building is positioned at a corner, with one side facing Dudenstraße, offering spartan studios for students. The other wing of the building extends below street level into the original locomotive depot quarters, adding an extra two storeys, housing apartments of varying sizes. The building preserves important features of the site, including red brick walls and cast-iron railings that reflect the industrial heritage of the original structure. My tasks for the project included drawing and detailing all the staircases, as well as preparing the elevation of the basement floors below street level.
